Tabernacle

No history would be complete without mentioning the Old Tabernacle. This was a community meeting place, which stood many years on the city square. Built in the early 1920's, many revival meetings, church services, funerals, programs, political rallies, and even a wedding reception were held here. Shoppers could rest in the shade and visit friends. The Tabernacle was torn down about 1950 to provide a place for the new City Hall.
